Welcome to the NUMAs!

The Next Up Music Awards are a new national contemporary music event for school-aged creators and their music teachers, taking place on 28 January 2027 at Carriageworks in Sydney.

Alongside Music Teacher of the Year awards and a paid Youth Intern Program, they will recognise young recording artists, producers and songwriters.

Australian icons Sia and Troye Sivan will support the initiative as Patrons, with Mahalia Barnes as Artistic Director, DOBBY as First Nations Artistic Director,  Ruby Rodgers and Myka Champion as Youth Patrons + more to be announced.
